The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 was without a doubt one of the most impressive and inspiring moments in German history.

Twinity, the 3D mirror world made of real people and real places, is commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War by reconstructing a section of the Berlin Wall in virtual Berlin. Twinity is connecting the past with the present by rebuilding a 2 km stretch of the Berlin Wall in virtual Berlin, in cooperation with the Berlin Senate and Berlin.de.

We wish to invite you to join us for the launch of this unique project at a joint press conference with the Berlin Senate and Berlin.de, at which the Berlin Wall in Twinity will be officially opened to the public.

Time: Monday, 2 November 2009 (13.00 – 14.00 CET)

Place: Berlin’s Red City Hall, room 319

Jochen Hummel and Dr. Mirko Caspar of Metaversum GmbH will be joined by Dr. Richard Meng, Speaker of the Berlin Senate, who will welcome you and provide you with detailed information, live demonstrations, and a personal press kit.
