[Support] Twinity on Apple Mac OS

Dear Twinizens, and prospective Twinizens,

We have received feedback from several members interested in a Mac OS version of Twinity, or knowing what support for Mac is available. Unfortunately, at the moment, Twinity is not supported on the Mac platform.

On the bright side, Twinity has been tested under Boot Camp on MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and has worked without any particular issues. This configuration is not officially supported, but should work. Twinity has not been tested under Parallels, as DirectX support in Parallels is still experimental.

We are keeping a list of people interested in a Mac version of Twinity, and we are looking into ways to bring Twinity to the Mac and provide official support for Twinity on the Mac. We will notify those interested if we find a solution.

Thanks,

The Twinity support team

[Support] SpeedTree issues resolved

We had a few reports over the weekend that after our last round of invitations, people who downloaded the latest Twinity client got errors about SpeedTree when they first launched Twinity. We have reproduced this and fixed the problem. You can either click No, and go through the automatic updates, or simply download the latest client from www.twinity.com.

[Support] Twinity update done - new login and privacy settings, release notes sent

Dear Twinizens,

Related to the updated naming system, we have a few things to tell you about how to log in to Twinity now:

  1. You need you use your email address instead of your username. You’ll see that in the login form both on www.twinity.com and in the Twinity client.
  2. You need to log in once on www.twinity.com and set your privacy settings. As soon as you log in on www.twinity.com, you will be automatically taken to a form to set privacy for your name display, your birth date display and your online status display.

Additionally, I have sent release notes to the Twinity-beta mailing list with information about what is included in this update.

Thanks!

- jeremy

If you receive an error message like “Cannot authorize SpeedTree. Enter debugger? Cancel will exit the program.”, please click No, and Twinity will start. This problem will be resolved with our Twinity update tomorrow.

[Support] Update and patch problems April 16-20

Dear Twinizens,

We received some reports from Twinity members over the last few days of problems with patches and updates downloading.  You may see one of the following errors when starting Twinity:

  • Error downloading the patch! Try later or report a problem to support
  • The defs and/or entities.xml on the client and server are not identical
  • The file d3dx9_33.dll is missing

If you do, the easiest solution is to download the latest Twinity client from www.twinity.com. The first two issues have been resolved on the server-side, and the third error message should no longer occur with the latest client installed.

New customer satisfaction survey

Dear Twinizens,

Earlier this year, we asked you for your feedback on how we were doing. We asked you questions about Twinity’s performance, stability, and our customer service.

Over the past couple of months, we have worked hard to improve in every area. We would now like to ask you for your feedback to see if we are meeting your expectations. Please click here to take our new survey.

Thank you again for your continued support!

Twinity survey - customer support

Recently, we conducted our first survey for customer satisfaction in Twinity. We had a satisfaction rate of 87%. While that’s not bad, it’s not where we want it to be. So please, if you answered this survey and you have some feedback for us, or areas where you see room for improvement, please let us know. We will always do our best to provide the best support and help you get the best in-world experience possible.
