Dear Twinizens,

As announced just a few minutes ago,  Twinity will be offline for an update for the next several hours. In the past, we have announced each update individually. Moving forward, however, we think it makes more sense to have a regular update schedule, so you Twinizens know what to expect.

Twinity updates will now take place on Wednesdays from 0900 (9 AM) to 1600 (4 PM) CET. We will no longer announce each release individually, but will post notes about the releases afterwards. Please expect access to Twinity to be problematic during those hours.

Please be aware that Twinity will be offline from approximately 1600 (4 PM) CET until 2400 (Midnight) CET. As always, your Twinity client will be patched automatically after the update.

The Bitropolis Party last Friday was a smashing success! Twinizens enjoyed a 30-minute screening of machinima films from this year’s Bitfilm Festival nominees in the Bitropolis Cinema. After the screening, partygoers busted out some fierce dance animations on the Bitfilm dancefloor to a drum’n’ bass set provided by DJ Iaka. Click the pix for a larger view.

Tonight, Friday the 13th of June, we will be celebrating the opening of Bitropolis, the underground Art City in Twinity, with a machinima party. From 18:00 (CET) onwards, we will be showing the machinima films that have been nominated for the Bitfilm Awards in the Bitropolis Cinema.

Every visitor will be given a unique virtual t-shirt with the Bitfilm mascot, the football-playing robot. You can only get your hands on this t-shirt at Bitfilm’s machinima party. The party is also a good opportunity to meet the Bitfilm team and filmmakers from all around the world.

How to get there: Go to ‘Places’ in your toolbar and then ‘Place Search’. Type ‘Bitropolis’ and click ‘Search’. To enter, click the green GO button.

What are you waiting for? Grab your popcorn and get down to Bitropolis! When the machinima show is over, come to the after-party and boogie down with our new dance animations. Music provided by DJ IAKA, who will be rockin’ the turntables in the Bitropolis night club.

We have an official Twinity Events Forum, and the Twinizen Justin Tyme started using it to announce his events. Please go there and have a look at what he’s creating and presenting in Twinity!

You, too, can use the forum to announce your own events, so if you’re currently planning something amazing and exciting, please share it with the community and make your upcoming party a smash!
