Twinity as 1 of 19 virtual worlds?

A recent posting at Metaversed.com has a list of 19 virtual worlds, including Twinity. The discussion about what defines a virtual world is interesting, but who knows if it’s really relevant? In the end, people will spend time using the services that appeal to them the most. If that happens to be a virtual world, then cool. If it’s an MMORPG, then fine as well.

Twinity beta: next set of 100 invitations sent

If you’ve expressed interest via this blog or directly to a Metaversum employee, you should have received an email invitation today! :-)

Twinity on b-side again

Here’s the link. I like the quote:

Virtual/real life mashup

I think that may be accurate. ;-)

Twinity beta mailing list created

All beta members will receive an email message from twinity-beta-bounces@lists.metaversum.com or twinity-beta-request@lists.metaversum.com, depending on how your email program displays it. In any event, this is the welcome message for the mailing list twinity-beta@lists.messages.com, and that list will be used to distribute information to our beta members.

If you don’t wish to participate or receive those emails, unsubscribe instructions are also in the email. Thanks!

Screenshots of Nick’s apartment

Twinity on Second Times

Second Times, a leading Japanese site publishing news about virtual worlds, has an article about the Twinity beta. Thanks for the mention!

Twinity on Clickable Culture

Just a pointer to a mention of Twinity on a set of links on Clickable Culture. I really like the formula that they have there. I’m not sure if it’s 100% accurate, but fun nonetheless. :-)

Twinity beta: First member apartment created

Congratulations to Twinity member nick, the first member to create his own location in Twinity! :-)

Twinity mentioned on Lag-O-Rama

There’s actually not much about Twinity on this posting, but it’s another interesting discussion about what an MMO really is.

But this posting has a wonderful title and some interesting ideas.
